Here Howard reviews the individual and organisational issues
surrounding working remotely and electronically. These issues
include:

He summarises his experiences
of over 4 years of developing and maintaining new business,
using new technology to facilitate change and sets out to
illustrate the overriding requirement for applied 'emotional
intelligence', i.e. empathy and self awareness. Howard will also
describe how the use of the Internet, e-mail, EDI, CD-ROM, video
and audio conferencing, mobile communications, group-ware, and
networking, all helps to bind together 9 diverse groups with at
least 1400 contacts.
Basing Business and Marketing Strategies around eCommerce - David
Hood
David presents an e-commerce case study reviewing the launch and
success of Scotch Corner, a company that set out to have 95%
of its business on the web with 5% terrestrial! This company set
out defined objectives prior to establishing a quality presence on
the Internet and using some terrific technology that
kept the traditional "feel" of a physical store. The
ease of doing business in a virtual sense has led to new stores
opening with specialised themes and product ranges - at little
additional cost to Scotch Corner.
