| Summary |
The penetration of mobile phones in Finland is over 60% but the
UK is rapidly catching up since the introduction of pre-paid
mobiles. In 1999, sales of mobile phones were 12m, doubling the number of phones to 24m.
But we are just at the start of the mobile revolution as the new WAP enabled mobile phones and PDAs now bring the
possibility of internet surfing, e-commerce applications and even video.
Durlacher has predicted that the European m-commerce market
including value added services will be worth £14.5bn by 2003.
The mobile operators have recently began to implement business applications and portals. We are now entering a far more
interactive and dynamic world, where the concept of computing at
any time, in any way, and any how comes to fruition. Our 2 speakers will enlighten us more to the opportunities ahead and
challenges for those that will implement mobile e-business solutions. |
